Maybe the key to convincing a reader that an emdash is not AI-generated is to use them as freely as Emily Dickinson does. Her poems give me hope for the future of the emdash.
ha ha, I posted an Emily Dickinson poem which I PHOTOGRAPHED out of a very old book, only to get a comment from a user: "probably chatGPT, too many dashes". . . !! And my picture was obviously of old, yellow paper & old type...😂

One of my all-time favorite poems with one of the best opening lines imaginable.
Loved reading this - it was like a memory unlocked. The mind stores away such treasures, sadly to forget until poked or nudged into remembrance.
