I loved the line "every hair on my head, every hair broken off". There's a sort of heartbreaking, beautiful courage to the whole poem, looking the difficulty in laying it all down straight in the face.

I've never considered what you say about the odds of life; that any disease never changes the days God gave us from the start, and that whatever life we are given is still a "million bucks".
