“...Pay attention then to the way your heart

Breathes a sigh of relief when the work

That was never yours anyway is lifted

From your tired hands. Pay attention,

When you clean up the mess, to the treasure

That the wreck unearthed, and give thanks

For your folly and God’s favor.”

That is my favorite part right there. Thank you, Andrew Peterson for this beautiful piece of poetry.

"Pay attention to the eerie silence

When the air conditioner cycles off

And the only sound is the creak of the house. "

Reading this was a stand-out poetry moment for me. I often notice moments like this, when I'm alone, the noise that has been playing in the background for so long that I had become accustomed to it suddenly drops away, and I'm confronted by a part of myself that was being drowned out. It's a frightening sort of relief.

Just want to say thank you to Andrew from all the way over here in nz. We first discovered his music, “sowers song” is an absolute favourite; then “Wingfeather Saga”, which I & my kids have savored multiple times & now profound poetry. Andrew, you’ve been an inspiration in & brought creative insight into so many areas of our families life! Thank you.
